In a recent internal memo from Oracle's Terri Mason on the subject of the database empire's college recruiting program dated June 6, 2007. Mr. Mason listed colleges from which Oracle actively recruits.

According to the e-mail, Oracle recruits "top candidates" for product development from MIT, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon University, Princeton, Wisconsin, Yale, Dartmouth, Brown, Caltech, Berkeley, Harvard and Cornell. In addition, the e-mail continues, Oracle will consider "top candidates" from the University of Texas Austin, Duke, Penn, Georgia Institute of Technology (graduate students) and "any top international schools," it reads.

Though everyone agrees that talented Information Technology graduates can be found at the top business schools, it's also true that comparable talent exists at Historically Black Colleges and Universities that traditionally aren't ranked among the elite.
This “White Colleges Preferred” or “brand-name” culture in recruiting leaves out minorities that did no have the resources to pursue a college degree at the high-quality universities.
